I also believe that boycotts are counterproductive. Peace will come through humanizing and understanding one another, not building walls and ending contact. That said, in the case of Israel another powerful argument against boycotting Israeli universities is that they (and I believe Hebrew University in particular) have significant Palestinian representation in the student bodies and provide quite a bit of benefit to Palestinians, who may be the most hurt by a boycott. I believe Hebrew U actually has an office to explain about this.
